We wanted to try something different with the recording of Waves. In the past jeremiah foundation has recorded all of their own material, which has been fun. On Waves we decided to take a chance and see what we could do with another person guiding our process. We also wanted to press this recording on a 7", but 'Fiery Red Fields" after recording was too long. Not a problem, our friend Trey was willing to do a remix and then Jason decided to do a remix using his 'montag' moniker.

Something we did different when writing 'Fiery Red Fields ' is we had all parts programmed and a rough idea of the direction of the song, but we started to play the last part of the song live and new ideas started to form. After playing the ending of the song live, we used that to rework our ideas of how the song should go. When the song was finally recorded we didn't quite capture the same live idea of the song and that is where Jason's remix came to life. 'The End (Fiery Red Fields montag Mix)' is a remix of the end of the song and in the vein of how the ending of the song was played live.
